Video Script Timer
Calculate video duration from script word count.

One of the first questions in any video project is "how long will this be?" You have a script, but no clear sense of whether it's a 45-second video or a 2-minute one.
This Video Script Timer takes your script text, counts the words, and calculates the estimated duration based on your target pace. The default is 150 words per minute, which is a natural conversational speed for voiceover. You can adjust it for faster-paced content (social media, 170+ WPM) or slower, more deliberate delivery (corporate explainers, 130 WPM).
Paste your script, set your pace, and instantly see the duration. It's that simple. I built this because I was constantly doing this math by hand during pre-production, and getting it wrong meant storyboard timing was off before I even opened After Effects.
Useful for motion designers, video producers, copywriters, and anyone working with voiceover scripts. No signup required.
